Ocean City Police Department Announces Arrest of One of Their Own

Ocean City, MD, USA 04-18-2021: A Ford Explorer Police vehicle belonging to Ocean City Police department is idling near the board walk. This is a K-9 unit with the trained dog inside the car.

Ocean City, MD – The Ocean City Police Department disclosed that Isaiah Mitchell, a Custody Officer with the department, has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault related to a domestic incident. Mitchell, who was off-duty at the time of the incident, is now subject to an investigation led by the Berlin Police Department.

Mitchell had been a part of the Ocean City Police Department since November 2022, serving in a civilian role within the Arrest and Detention Section. Following the arrest, he is no longer employed by the department.

The Ocean City Police Department has expressed its commitment to taking this matter seriously and has pledged to support the Berlin Police Department’s investigation as required.
