Absecon Police Arrest Repeat Offender in Late-Night Burglary Attempt

ABSECON, NJ – In the early hours of February 8, 2024, Absecon Police swiftly responded to a burglary attempt at the Oyster Bay Condominium Complex. Reports came in just before 1:00 AM of a male suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Michael A. Davis of Absecon, wearing a ski mask and attempting to break into vehicles and a residence within the complex.

As police officers converged on the location, they spotted Davis, whose appearance matched the detailed descriptions provided by alert witnesses. When confronted by the officers, Davis fled on foot, leading to a brief but intense pursuit. The chase concluded with Davis’s capture, ensuring no further threat to community safety.

This is not Davis’s first encounter with the law. He was previously arrested in July 2022 for a residential burglary at the Clayton Mill Run Apartment Complex, which also ended in a foot chase with police. His repeated involvement in criminal activity highlights ongoing challenges in curbing property crimes within the area.
