Child Found Body After Man Killed Woman Inside Pennsylvania Hotel

Matthew Harrison has been apprehended by law enforcement officials in Pittston, Pennsylvania, following a brief standoff at a local hotel. Harrison’s capture marks a significant development in a case that began with the issuance of murder and assault charges against him by the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

He faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, strangulation, and two counts of aggravated indecent assault connected to the death of 49-year-old Jami Harrison, who was found deceased by an 11-year-old juvenile in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

The initial investigation by the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department (NLCRPD) was launched on February 5, 2024, after the discovery of Jami Harrison’s body, showing signs of asphyxia due to strangulation and evidence of sexual assault.

Further investigation revealed a series of menacing text messages sent by Harrison prior to the incident, suggesting premeditation.
