Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division is currently investigating the homicide of 35-year-old Delondre Levert Sawyer, a resident of Germantown. Sawyer’s body was discovered in a wooded area on the 11200 block of Game Preserve Road in Gaithersburg on Thursday, February 8.

Following a call received at approximately 7:08 a.m. by the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center regarding an unresponsive individual found in the woods, the Major Crimes Division, specifically the Homicide Section, was alerted and dispatched to the scene. While initial observations revealed no apparent trauma, the subsequent autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on February 9 revealed a gunshot wound on Sawyer, leading to the classification of his death as a homicide.

This development has intensified the investigation as the Montgomery County Police work to uncover the circumstances surrounding Sawyer’s death and to identify the responsible parties.

The department is urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward to assist in their ongoing investigation.
