Atlantic City Police Seize Guns and Drugs in Major Bust

Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department announced the recovery of three handguns and a significant quantity of drugs as a result of a narcotics investigation targeting drug distribution networks.

Following a four-week investigation led by Detective James Barrett, authorities executed a court-authorized search warrant on February 9, 2024, at a residence located in the 800 block of Mediterranean Avenue. The operation involved the Atlantic City Police Department SWAT Team and Special Investigations Section.

Jamil Miller, 36, of Bridgeton, NJ, and Kameesha Coppin, 33, of Atlantic City, were arrested at the scene. Investigators discovered three handguns, multiple loaded handgun magazines, additional ammunition, over seven grams of cocaine, 74 individual bags of heroin, and items associated with the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics during the search.

Miller faces multiple charges, including possession and intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances (CDS), operating within proximity to school and public zones, maintaining a CDS production facility, and weapon possession offenses. Coppin has been charged with similar drug-related offenses and weapon possession violations.

Both suspects were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
