14-Year-Old Fired Shot After Run Down 16-Year-Old With Car

Utica, NY – A 16-year-old boy has been charged with assault following a vehicle-pedestrian collision and subsequent shooting in Utica.

In early January, the Utica Police Department reported a serious incident at the intersection of South St and Taylor Ave, where a male pedestrian was intentionally struck by a vehicle. Following the collision, a 14-year-old juvenile discharged a firearm at the fleeing vehicle. After extensive interviews and investigative efforts, supported significantly by the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center, a 16-year-old male was identified as the driver of the vehicle and has been charged with Assault in the second degree.

Due to the suspect’s age, his identity remains confidential. This case highlights the collaborative efforts of local law enforcement agencies in addressing violent incidents in the community.
