TRENTON, NJ – If you bet on the Super Bowl last weekend, you’re not alone in New Jersey. New Jerseyans spent 30% more on Super Bowl bets this year than last year, according to a new state report.
,Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) have released preliminary data on the wagering activity surrounding Super Bowl LVIII, held on February 11, 2024.
According to reports from Atlantic City casinos and New Jersey equine racetracks, the total amount wagered on this year’s Super Bowl reached approximately $141.6 million, marking a significant increase of 30% compared to the 2023 Super Bowl, which saw $109.3 million in wagers.
The data, inclusive of bets placed at New Jersey’s 12 retail sportsbooks and 18 mobile sports wagering applications, indicates a projected total sports wagering payout of $133.1 million, resulting in a collective win of nearly $8.5 million for the sports wagering books.
