Fatal Shooting Under Investigation in Edgewood

EDGEWOOD, MD – A shooting in Edgewood just after midnight on Saturday has resulted in one man’s death, with Harford County Sheriff’s Office detectives currently investigating the incident. The shooting occurred at 12:08 a.m. in the 2200 block of Pulaski Highway, within the premises of D&M’s Tiki Bar and Crab Deck. Deputies from the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office were the first responders to the scene where they found 24-year-old Dajuan Kyree Simmons of Aberdeen suffering from gunshot wounds.

Immediate life-saving efforts were initiated by the deputies until medics from the Harford County Department of Emergency Services arrived and took over. Despite their efforts, Simmons was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has taken charge of the investigation, with the Forensic Services Unit collecting and preserving physical evidence to aid in their inquiry.
