Absecon, NJ – A home invasion on Spruce Street in Absecon ended with the arrest of a Galloway man on Saturday, February 17, just before 12:30 PM. Joseph P. Aversa, 41, is facing charges after he allegedly forced his way into a residence, threatened the occupant, and engaged in a physical altercation.

The quick thinking of the resident, who managed to secure the door and force Aversa outside, likely prevented further harm. However, Aversa shattered a window before fleeing the scene. A collaborative effort between Absecon Police and the Somers Point Police Department led to Aversa’s arrest without further incident.

Aversa has been charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He is currently being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility, awaiting further legal proceedings.
