Woman Arrested in Bronx for Death of Newborn Baby

Bronx, NY – The United States Marshals Service (USMS) New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force (NY/NJ RFTF), alongside the New York City Police Department (NYPD), has successfully apprehended 31-year-old Lasasha Gouldbourne on January 30, 2024. Gouldbourne was wanted by the NYPD for the homicide of her newborn baby, committed on September 1, 2023.

Gouldbourne faces charges of criminal negligent homicide, assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges come after the tragic incident where she is accused of smothering her newborn baby and subsequently abandoning the infant in an apartment before fleeing the scene.

Utilizing advanced investigative techniques, NY/NJ RFTF investigators determined Gouldbourne was hiding in the Bronx. She was located and arrested on the 2800 block of Bronx Park East and has since been transported to the NYPD 49 Precinct Detective Unit for processing.
