Brooklyn Deadly Double Shooting Investigated as Murder-Suicide

Brooklyn, NY – The New York City Police Department is investigating a double murder inside a Brooklyn home after two people were found with gunshot wounds to the head last week.

A man and a woman were discovered dead with gunshot wounds in a Brooklyn home, marking a tragic incident under investigation.

On Friday, February 16, at approximately 4:43 PM, police were called to 59 Logan Street in response to a crime in progress. Upon arrival, they found Rafael Ramos, a 40-year-old male from Hyde Park, MA, and Luz Espinal, a 43-year-old female from Brooklyn, NY, both unconscious and unresponsive.

The victims had suffered gunshot wounds to their heads. Emergency Medical Services pronounced them deceased at the scene. A firearm was located near the deceased male, but no arrests have been made as of yet.

“It looks like a murder-suicide,” a NYPD spokesperson said this weekend.

Espinal and her boyfriend were found by her son. Reports indicate a potentially troubling relationship between the two victims.

An autopsy on both deceased victims will be conducted by the medical examiner’s office.
