Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department has issued a traffic advisory regarding an overnight construction project by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) on the Route 30 drawbridge over Beach Thorofare, at milepost 56.77. This is part of a broader bridge rehabilitation effort.

The construction is set to commence on Monday, February 26, 2024, and will continue through to Friday, March 1, 2024, taking place nightly from 9 PM to 5 AM. Motorists should expect significant disruptions when entering and exiting Route 30, as the bridge will be raised for 30 minutes every hour, halting traffic in both directions.

To facilitate traffic flow and ensure safety, the New Jersey State Police will be on-site to assist with lane closures. Additionally, Variable Message Signs (VMS) have been positioned at the bridge to inform motorists about the expected closures.

Travelers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and consider alternative paths, such as the Atlantic City Expressway or Route 40, during the construction period to avoid delays.
