36-Year-Old Bronx Man Charged for Violent Attack on Teen

Bronx, NY – The New York City Police Department is calling for public assistance to identify a suspect involved in an assault in the 52nd Precinct.

On Monday, February 19, at around 7:30 PM, an unidentified individual engaged a 17-year-old male in a verbal dispute on Mosholu Parkway North.

The altercation escalated, resulting in the suspect striking the victim with a sharp object on the left side of his face, causing a laceration. Following the attack, the assailant fled towards Mosholu Parkway North. The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities have charged Edwin Cordero, a 36-year-old male from 353 East Mosholu Parkway North, Bronx, NY, with two counts of assault and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the incident.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information regarding this assault or the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward to help ensure community safety.
