Sheriff’s Office Called to “Confrontation” at Calvert High School

Calvert County, MD – A confrontation at Calvert High School this morning has led to an investigation by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and the school’s administration. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m., involved several students in a dispute over a matter not related to the school, eventually drawing in more participants.

School administration, along with the School Resource Officer (SRO) and safety advocates, quickly intervened to manage the situation and maintain the safety of students and staff. Sheriff Cox emphasized the seriousness with which the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is treating the altercation, highlighting the collaboration with the school administration to ascertain the appropriate charges for those involved.

Sheriff Cox assured the community of his commitment to student safety, describing any physical altercation on school grounds as deeply concerning. He stated that the CCSO is dedicated to conducting a thorough investigation, taking preventive measures against future incidents, and supporting affected individuals.
