Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries in Parole Traffic Incident

PAROLE, MD — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a traffic collision on the evening of February 27, on Solomons Island Road at MD Route 665 in Parole. The incident involved a 2006 Toyota Scion, driven by a 42-year-old male from Annapolis, MD, which struck a 61-year-old female pedestrian from Edgewater, MD, as the vehicle attempted to merge onto MD Route 665 East.

The pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing and walking in the travel lanes during rainfall, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Toyota Scion was unharmed and remained at the scene to call 911. The Traffic Safety Section is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
