Teen Arrested with Gun After Failed Attempt to Flee Police in Reading

Reading, PA – A joint operation involving Patrol Officers and Vice Criminal Investigators from the City of Reading Police Department led to the arrest of a juvenile on February 27.

The incident occurred when officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 400 block of N 3rd St. The vehicle fled, initiating a pursuit that concluded when the driver, a juvenile, exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. Officers successfully apprehended the juvenile after a brief chase.

Upon arrest, it was discovered that the juvenile was illegally in possession of a firearm equipped with a Glock auto-sear and an extended magazine.
