Arrest Made in Prince George’s County Deadly Shooting Case

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MARYLAND — The Prince George’s County Police Department has announced the arrest of Gregory Patterson, a 40-year-old man of no fixed address, in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in November. Patterson is accused of the murder of 57-year-old Donald Head, also of no fixed address, following a dispute known to both individuals.

The incident occurred on November 27, 2023, around 8:25 am, in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Capitol Heights. Responding officers found the victim outside with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Charged with first and second degree murder among other related charges, Patterson’s arrest was facilitated by the U.S. Marshals Service in Washington, D.C. He is currently held there on a no-bond status, pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
