Moore County Woman Wins $100,000 on Scratch-Off, Overwhelmed with Emotion

Cameron, North Carolina – Amy Douglas experienced a wave of emotions when her $20 scratch-off purchase transformed into a $100,000 prize.

“I cried,” Douglas confessed, reflecting on the moment she realized her incredible win.

Douglas purchased her winning $2,000,000 Diamond Deluxe ticket from Prince Mart on Wilson Road in Sanford. Recalling the decision, she admitted they were drawn to the ticket because of its attractive appearance.

Visiting lottery headquarters to claim her prize, Douglas was awarded $71,506 after necessary tax withholdings. With her newfound winnings, she plans to alleviate some financial burdens by paying bills and settling her mortgage.

The $2,000,000 Diamond Deluxe game, introduced in December, boasts four $2 million top prizes and eight $100,000 prizes. While four $2 million prizes have been claimed, six $100,000 prizes, including Douglas’s win, remain up for grabs.
