Teen Arrested for Bronx Robbery of 15-Year-Old

BRONX, NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department has announced the arrest of Richird Benitez, an 18-year-old resident of Sherman Avenue in the Bronx, on charges related to a recent robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. The arrest occurred within the 44th Precinct on February 28.

In a separate but related appeal, the NYPD is seeking assistance from the public to identify another individual involved in a robbery. The incident took place on February 22, when a 15-year-old male was threatened and robbed while walking on Sherman Avenue. The assailant, who approached the victim from behind, simulated a weapon and coerced the victim into an alley where he was robbed of his belongings. The suspect fled the scene heading south on Sherman Avenue, leaving the victim unharmed.
