Police Capture Fleeing Home Burglary Suspect

OCEAN TWP, NJ — The Township of Ocean Police Department responded to a burglary attempt in the early hours of March 3, leading to the suspect’s arrest. Officers were dispatched to a home on Marcy Place following a report of an attempted break-in.

The caller alerted authorities to an individual attempting to force entry through the front door. Upon arrival, police found that the suspect had fled but was later apprehended on West Park Avenue. The individual, identified as Devin J. Gelewski, was confirmed to have attempted to enter the victim’s home.

Gelewski faces charges of Resisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass, and Criminal Attempt (Burglary). After processing at police headquarters, he was released on a summons, awaiting an initial court appearance.
