Speeding Queens Woman Charged for Deadly Crash

QUEENS, NY – Makeda McDonald, a 28-year-old resident of Queens, has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly car crash. McDonald faces charges of Criminal Negligent Homicide, Reckless Driving, and two counts of Speeding Violation.

The incident occurred in the early hours near Cross Island Parkway and Southern State Parkway, under the jurisdiction of the 105 Precinct. Investigations revealed that McDonald was driving a 2017 Mercedes Benz at an excessive speed, leading to a catastrophic crash.

The vehicle hit a guide rail, became airborne, and rolled several times before striking an overhead light pole and gantry. The collision resulted in the death of a rear passenger, who was pronounced deceased at Northwell Health/Valley Stream Hospital.
