Three Arrested in Connection to Murder of 19-Year-Old Darcell Mitchell

BALTIMORE, MD — Members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested a 17-year-old male, 18-year-old Davon Butler, and 19-year-old Charles Bowen on February 28. The trio is suspected in the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Darcell Mitchell, which occurred on February 20 in the 800 block of West Lexington Street.

Following the arrest, detectives transported the suspects to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where they face charges of 1st-degree murder. The investigation into Mitchell’s death began after Southwest District patrol officers were dispatched to the scene following a Shot Spotter alert on February 20, around 11:34 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mitchell inside a residence with gunshot wounds.

Mitchell was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Further investigation revealed that Mitchell was shot while standing outside and subsequently sought refuge inside a nearby home, where the authorities were alerted.
