Social Media Threat Against Maryland High School Unfounded, Police

CALVERT COUNTY, MD – The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office announced an investigation into a social media threat aimed at Huntingtown High School. The alert came from the school administration on Monday, March 4, concerning a post from an unidentified source.

Upon examination, law enforcement quickly ascertained the threat lacked credibility. It emerged that the concerning message was a reposted screenshot related to an incident in Virginia from two weeks prior, for which an arrest had been made.

As a safeguard, the Sheriff’s Office deployed additional deputies to Huntingtown High School today. This measure aims to ensure the safety and security of students and staff following the threat.
