South Jersey Man Arrested for Killing His Mother

BLACKWOOD, NJ — James Doran, a 30-year-old resident of Blackwood, has been charged with the murder of his mother, Lillian Doran, 65, following an incident on March 2. Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins made the announcement.

The Gloucester Township Police Department was alerted to the situation through a 911 call reporting a deceased female at a home on Fairmount Avenue in Blackwood. Responding officers discovered Lillian Doran with fatal blunt-force trauma to her head.

James Doran was subsequently apprehended by the Pennsylvania State Police in Bedford, Pennsylvania. He faces a first-degree murder charge and is currently being held at the Bedford County Correctional Facility, awaiting an extradition hearing. The investigation into the circumstances leading to Lillian Doran’s death is ongoing.
