Teen Charged in Stowe Township Police Shooting

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department has charged 17-year-old Delvonte Woodson in relation to a shooting targeting officers in Stowe Township. During a joint investigation by the McKees Rocks and Stowe Township Police Departments, shots were fired at an unmarked police vehicle on Woodward Avenue at 2:07 pm.

Neither officer was harmed when a male assailant, later identified as Woodson, discharged multiple rounds at their vehicle. An officer from the McKees Rocks Police Department returned fire before the suspect escaped the scene. Woodson was apprehended without further incident following an investigation that included witness interviews and surveillance footage.

Woodson, a resident of Stowe Township, faces several charges, including criminal attempt homicide, assault of a law enforcement officer, and illegal possession of a firearm. He is to be prosecuted as an adult and will be detained at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting preliminary arraignment.
