Contractor Arrested for Multiple Collapses, Fraud in Yardley Borough

YARDLEY, PA — The Yardley Borough Police Department arrested a 38-year-old contractor from Levittown, PA, on charges related to deceptive business practices. The arrest, made on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, follows an investigation in September 2023 after a homeowner reported paying $59,200 for home repairs that were never fully completed.

The incomplete work led to significant water damage in the home, including two ceiling collapses and illness to at least one occupant. Evidence gathered through search warrants provided probable cause for the arrest. With assistance from the Falls Township Police Department, the suspect was apprehended, processed, and released on bail.

The case is set to proceed with a preliminary hearing in District Court, which will address the felony charges of deceptive business practices and theft by deception.
