SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – In a targeted operation conducted on the evening of March 8, Suffolk County Police Department’s Crime Section officers addressed community concerns by investigating the sale of vape products and alcohol to minors within the First Precinct. From approximately 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., officers checked ten businesses for compliance with laws prohibiting sales to minors.

Violations were discovered at three locations, resulting in charges against employees who allegedly sold alcohol to an underage individual. Those charged include Abu Taher, 33, of Deer Park, an employee at EXPRESS Gas in Deer Park; Mohit Kumar, 22, of Farmingdale, an employee at Valero in Bay Shore, who faces an additional charge of false personation; and Lovejeet Singh, 19, of West Babylon, an employee at Shell in West Babylon.

All three individuals have been issued Field Appearance Tickets and are expected to be arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip at a future date. This operation underscores the commitment of Suffolk County police to enforce laws designed to protect minors from accessing restricted substances.
