Tragic Dog Attack in Avenel Results in Infant’s Death, Parents Injured

AVENEL, NJ – A devastating incident occurred at a home on Mereline Avenue in Avenel, NJ, around 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, where a dog attack led to the tragic death of an infant and serious injuries to the child’s parents. Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Woodbridge Police Department Director Robert Hubner announced the details of the event.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered the mother and baby with severe injuries inflicted by the dog. Despite emergency efforts, the baby was pronounced dead at the scene. Both parents were urgently transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
