Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred in Middletown, resulting in one fatality.

The incident occurred on March 11, when a maroon 2008 Saturn Vue, heading east on Boyds Corner Road near Ratledge Road, veered off its path. The vehicle failed to navigate a curve correctly, crossing into the opposite lane and off the road. It collided with a utility pole’s support wire before hitting the corner of an unoccupied house and a large raised concrete porch.

The 66-year-old driver from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, was declared dead at the scene. The authorities are withholding the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
