CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit has charged 23-year-old Zarkee Bembo-Wilson in the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Airmus Dillard. The incident occurred in the unincorporated area of Capitol Heights, leading to Dillard’s death following gunshot wounds.

On March 5, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Cedarleaf Avenue after reports of a shooting at around 6:25 pm. Upon arrival, they found Dillard with gunshot injuries; he later succumbed to these injuries in the hospital.

Investigations suggest that Bembo-Wilson and Dillard were acquainted and embroiled in an ongoing dispute. Following a search, the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit apprehended Bembo-Wilson, who now faces charges of first and second-degree murder among other related offenses. He is currently held at the Department of Corrections under no-bond status.
