SYRACUSE, NY – Avram Broome Jr., 21, has been charged with four felony counts of making a terroristic threat following a series of fake bomb threats across Syracuse. On March 13, multiple businesses, including shopping centers, a library, and a healthcare facility, received threatening calls from a male voice, which at times was reported to be laughing. Syracuse Police Detectives traced the calls to a cell phone owned by Broome, leading them to an address in the 200 block of Union Place.

Upon the detectives’ arrival, Broome emerged from an apartment, arms extended, and admitted to making the threats. After being taken to the Public Safety Building, Broome confessed to the allegations but failed to provide a substantial reason for his actions, citing boredom as his only motive. The charges underscore the serious consequences of such false threats.
