Man Killed in Crash After Being Struck by Stolen Vehicle

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are actively investigating a fatal traffic collision. The incident involved a Hyundai Accent and a stolen Volkswagen Golf at the intersection of 25th Street and Alabama Avenue, Southeast.

The collision occurred on Thursday, March 14, at approximately 10:15 p.m. The Hyundai, carrying a man and a woman, was entering the intersection when the Volkswagen, traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Alabama Avenue, crashed into it. The impact caused both occupants of the Hyundai to be ejected from the vehicle.

The male driver, identified as 27-year-old Steven Jermaine Faison, Jr. of Southeast, DC, was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following the crash, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf fled the scene on foot.
