Teen Injured in Franklin Township Car Crash

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – A severe car crash on Canal Road resulted in critical injuries for a 17-year-old girl and non-life-threatening injuries for three other juveniles on Wednesday night. Franklin Township Public Safety Director Quovella M. Maeweather reported the incident occurred at 10:10 p.m., between Coppermine and Old Georgetown roads.

Upon arrival, officers immediately rendered lifesaving efforts to the critically injured girl, who was one of the four occupants of the vehicle. She was subsequently airlifted to a local hospital by the New Jersey State Police’s NorthStar helicopter, receiving urgent care for a serious head injury.

The three other juveniles involved in the accident were also transported to the hospital, where they were treated for injuries deemed not life-threatening. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
