NYPD Arrest Man for Murder of 3-Year-Old Boy

BROOKLYN, NY—A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday when police were called to a residence on New York Avenue in the 67th Precinct area at approximately 9:44 p.m. A 3-year-old boy, found unconscious and unresponsive, was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County Hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death is pending determination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The New York Police Department’s investigation into this heartbreaking event is ongoing.

In connection with the case, Kevin James, a 29-year-old man from the same address, was arrested the following day at 5:55 p.m. James faces charges of Murder, Assault, and Acting in a Manner Injurious to a Child.

The young victim has been identified as Denim Brown.
