COLUMBIA, MD – Howard County Police have successfully apprehended Corey Conaway, 41, of Columbia, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on February 8. Conaway faces charges of first- and second-degree murder, among other related counts, for the death of 67-year-old Perry Comeau.

The incident unfolded inside Comeau’s home located in the 9500 block of Half Dollar Court. Responding officers discovered Comeau with multiple gunshot wounds at approximately 10:49 p.m., where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations revealed that Conaway, who was in a relationship with Comeau’s daughter, became a prime suspect. An argument between Conaway and Comeau is believed to have escalated, leading Conaway to return to the residence and commit the shooting.

Currently, Conaway is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center as the case continues to develop.
