Florida Issues Warning to Aspiring Home Squatters

STUART, FL – Martin County Sheriff William Snyder has issued a stern warning to those concerned about squatters taking over their properties. This move comes in response to a viral video by an illegal Venezuelan immigrant, teaching how to unlawfully occupy homes in the United States.

The video has raised fears among Florida residents who leave their homes unattended for various reasons. Unlike in other states where homeowners have lost property rights to squatters, Sheriff Snyder assures that such incidents will not occur in Florida. He cites Florida Statute 82.035, designed to protect homeowners by allowing law enforcement to remove unlawful occupants upon the homeowner’s request.

Sheriff Snyder urges community vigilance and cooperation to prevent squatter takeovers. He emphasizes the importance of homeowners in HOA, POA, or self-governed communities to report any suspicious occupancy to the authorities. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office vows to take swift action, ensuring squatters are relocated to the Martin County Jail.

Residents are encouraged to stay alert and informed about the squatter trend to protect their homes and communities from potential victimization.
