Syracuse Police Enforce Zero Tolerance on Illegal ATV Use

SYRACUSE, NY – In a decisive city-wide operation, the Syracuse Police ATV detail cracked down on illegal dirt bike activity, marking the first major enforcement effort of the year. Uniformed officers stopped two dirt bikes operating unlawfully on public roads, issuing $500 fines and impounding the vehicles, now subject to a $2,000 redemption fee.

The police emphasize their zero-tolerance policy towards illegal ATV and dirt bike use on city streets and parks. They urge owners to use these vehicles only in designated areas and to ride responsibly. The department appreciates the community’s support and encourages the reporting of illegal activities to ATVtips@syracusepolice.org.
