Teen Arrested in Connection with Carjacking in Baltimore’s

BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Police Department announced the arrest of a 16-year-old in connection with a carjacking incident that occurred on March 27.

Officers, while on patrol around 3 p.m. in the 180 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, identified a stolen vehicle. Attempts to halt the vehicle in the 180 block of Division Street were unsuccessful as the vehicle fled. However, a diligent area search led to the discovery of the vehicle in the 100 block of McKean Avenue. The driver exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

The pursuit concluded in the 900 block of McKean Street, where the young suspect was apprehended. A search of the vehicle revealed a Glock 19 handgun equipped with a switch and an extended magazine. Following the arrest, the teenager was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he is set to be charged as an adult for his involvement in the carjacking.
