Cumberland, MD — In the early hours of March 26, the Cumberland Police Department was called to address a disturbance on the 100 block of Bedford Street. Upon arrival, officers were informed by the complainant about an interim protective order against 45-year-old Robert Glenn Handley of Cumberland.

Upon serving the protective order, Handley became argumentative and began yelling at the complainant. Despite officers’ attempts to de-escalate the situation by ordering Handley to cease communication, he continued his disruptive behavior. As a result, Handley was arrested for disorderly conduct and violating the protective order.

Following his arrest, Handley was taken to Central Booking and subsequently appeared before a District Court commissioner. He was released on an unsecured personal bond.
