Public Assistance Sought in Identifying Assault Suspect in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a female suspect involved in an assault incident. The incident took place on Sunday, March 24, at a restaurant located in the 900 block of Broad Street around 11:55 a.m. The suspect is accused of entering the establishment, soliciting money from diners, and refusing to order. Upon being escorted out, she responded by spitting on an employee.

Authorities are urging the community for quick assistance to identify the woman, who is frequently seen in Newark’s downtown area and is believed to be homeless. Director Fragé has encouraged anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to contact the Police Division’s Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.
