Columbus Police Seek Assistance in Homicide Investigation

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Division of Police is reaching out to the community for help in identifying a suspect involved in a recent homicide case.

On the evening of March 29, 2024, at around 6:14 PM, police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Parsons Ave. & E. Whittier St. following an unknown complaint. Upon arrival, they discovered 61-year-old Dwayne Dowdell in an unconscious state, with injuries and bleeding from his head. Mr. Dowdell was quickly transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was pronounced deceased on March 30th.

The Columbus Police Homicide Unit, led by Detective Titus, is urgently seeking any information related to the suspect’s identity or details surrounding the incident. The community’s assistance is vital in progressing the investigation and bringing justice for Mr. Dowdell.
