Suspect Arrested in Early Morning Shooting in Bel Air

BEL AIR, MD – Authorities have apprehended 31-year-old Joshua Brewster of North East in connection with an early morning shooting in Bel Air. The incident, which took place on Highland Road, resulted in a female victim suffering a gunshot wound.

On the morning of April 10, deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting report in the 200 block of Highland Road around 5:53 a.m. They found an adult female with a wound to the lower body, who later declined medical treatment. A search ensued, leading to Brewster’s capture behind apartments on Sunflower Drive at 6:14 a.m., with the aid of a sheriff’s office drone.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation, collecting evidence to support the case. Initial inquiries revealed that Brewster had confronted and threatened the victim at gunpoint in her home before being interrupted and fleeing, during which he fired shots at the house.

Brewster is also linked to an attempted burglary occurring earlier that morning around 2:30 a.m. on Hanna Road. T
