10-Year-Old Boy Missing in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – A 10-year-old boy has been reported missing in Newark.

The Newark Department of Public Safety is calling on the community for assistance in the search for 10-year-old Ayaan Khan, who has been reported missing since Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Ayaan, known to have run away in the past, was last seen leaving his residence on N. 13th Street in Newark between 7:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Ayaan Khan is described as being 4’6” tall and weighing approximately 70 pounds. Authorities have shared a photo of Ayaan, noting that it was taken 3-4 years ago, to aid in his identification.

Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has issued a direct appeal to anyone with information about Ayaan’s current location to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Director Fragé emphasizes that all tips received through the Crime Stopper line are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
