Motorcyclist Killed in Fiery Crash on Route 18

FREEHOLD, NJ – A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle in Colts Neck is currently under investigation, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:02 p.m. Tuesday evening along State Highway 18 northbound near milepost 17.0. A 20-year-old male from Eatontown, riding a 2017 Honda CBR motorcycle, collided with the rear of a 2011 Ford F350 Utility truck, driven by a 27-year-old male, resulting in the motorcyclist being ejected and the motorcycle catching fire after coming to an uncontrolled stop.

The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased at the scene by 6:27 p.m. The utility truck’s driver remained at the accident location.
