Homeless Man Charged for Shooting Death of 19-Year-Old Male Victim

NEW YORK, NY
— Police responded to an emergency call early Wednesday morning after reports of a shooting at 205 E 112 Street, located within the 23 Precinct/PSA 5 area. Upon arrival at approximately 3:36 AM, officers found 19-year-old Ramon Alvarez with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was conscious and alert when EMS transported him to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The following day, Thursday, at 6:20 PM, police arrested 54-year-old Jose Rodriguez in connection with the incident. Rodriguez, who is homeless, was taken into custody within the same precinct and has been charged.
