Two Boys Detained for September Shooting in Passaic County

PATERSON, NJ – A prolonged investigation into a shooting that occurred on September 3 has led to the detention of two juveniles, one from Paterson and the other from Clifton, according to a joint announcement by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi.

The boys have been charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses following the incident, which took place at the intersection of Union Avenue and Jasper Street. Paterson City Police responded to the scene at approximately 2:40 a.m. and found two victims, a 28-year-old from Elmwood Park and a 33-year-old from Paterson, both of whom sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The victims were promptly taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
