Man Slashed in Face at Rockefeller Center Subway Station

NEW YORK, NY — A 24-year-old man was violently attacked while purchasing a MetroCard at the Rockefeller Center subway station early Monday morning. The incident, which occurred at approximately 12:20 AM, involved an unidentified assailant who approached the victim from behind and slashed the right side of his face.

The suspect, described only as a male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and brown pants, fled the scene on foot immediately after the attack. The victim suffered a severe laceration to his face and was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Authorities are currently seeking information on the assailant’s whereabouts and are reviewing surveillance footage from the station. Commuters and witnesses who were in the vicinity at the time of the attack are urged to come forward with any details that might aid in the investigation.
