Survey Shows New Jersey Republicans Willing to Date Democrats, Not So Much The Other Way

TRENTON, NJ — A recent survey conducted by DatingAdvice.com reveals that New Jersey Republicans are more likely to date Democrats than vice versa. This poll, which included responses from 3,000 singles, indicates that 59% of New Jersey singles are open to cross-party dating, slightly below the national average of 63%.

A dating website surveyed 3,000 singles to find out just how many are truly politically colorblind in Cupid’s game. It’s a quirky, election-year exploration of love’s new battleground—where politics and passion collide…

The survey sheds light on political preferences in dating within the state. It found that 14% of Republican singles in New Jersey refuse to date Democrats, while a higher percentage, 27%, of Democratic singles would not consider dating a Republican. This pattern of cross-party openness is not consistent nationwide, with regions like Delaware showing a higher openness (82% of singles open to cross-party dating) compared to South Dakota, where only 29% of singles express a similar willingness.

Democratic singles seem comparatively less amenable to crossing party lines for a date, with 20% saying ‘no’ to dating Republicans, slightly higher than their GOP counterparts at 17%. In South Dakota, this trend is even more pronounced, where 43% of Democrat voters are unwilling to consider Republicans romantically. Meanwhile, in Utah, Democratic singles are much more flexible, with only 8% saying they would swipe left on a Republican – possibly a pragmatic choice given the limited dating pool.
