Baltimore Man Charged in Pennsylvania Avenue Homicide

BALTIMORE, MD – In a significant development, Baltimore police have arrested 34-year-old Tony Dukes, charging him with the first-degree murder of 28-year-old Eugene Fitzgerald. The fatal shooting took place on March 26 in the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Dukes was apprehended by Warrant Apprehension detectives early on Monday morning in the 4300 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. Following his arrest, he was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility.

The initial incident, which was quickly upgraded to a homicide investigation, occurred at approximately 4:44 PM when police responded to a shooting call at the same location. Despite emergency medical treatment, Fitzgerald succumbed to his injuries shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
