Man Found Shot Multiple Times In D.C., Surveillance Captures Suspect Vehicle

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s First District are requesting the public’s help in locating a vehicle connected to a shooting in Southwest D.C. The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at approximately 1:54 PM.

DC Housing Police and First District officers, who were in the vicinity, rushed to the scene at the 1400 block of Canal Street, Southwest, upon hearing gunshots. They found a man with gunshot wounds, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured images of the suspect’s vehicle. Authorities urge anyone with information about this vehicle or the shooting to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a text tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The public is advised not to approach the suspect but to immediately inform law enforcement.
